ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- Marquee Content Now Available from Walt Disney Pictures, Touchstone Pictures, Miramax Films, Dimension Films, Cartoon Network and NASCAR.com
Broadening its array of broadband video on demand (VoD) programming, Cdigix, the leading provider of legal digital media to directly serve the college marketplace, today announced that it has secured licensing agreements with two of the world's preeminent media companies, Buena Vista Pay TV and Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. (TBS, Inc.).
As a result of the deals brokered directly with each media company, Cdigix's broadband VoD service, called Cflix, now offers a greatly expanded catalog of premier entertainment and news programming, including full-length feature films, television shows, interviews and news specials. The programming, which is currently being rolled out, is distributed over a local area network (LAN), yielding a fast and secure way for students to access legal, downloadable content that doesn't slow down the university's Internet connection.
"The college marketplace, comprised of passionate movie fans, is a substantial and important audience for the motion picture industry," said Dan Glickman, president and CEO of the Motion Picture Association of America, Inc. "By forging relationships with the studios and allowing college students to legally download films, Cdigix is making significant strides in our ongoing efforts to leverage new distribution channels in a safe and lawful way."
